Our amazing Kapahaka group did an outstanding opening performance at the Kapahaka festival, making our school very proud.

Our Kapahaka group has been together since October 2013. We began with 9 students and we have quickly grown to 33 students.
Recently we have performed at the Community Hall for Levin Spinners & Weavers Annual Spin off on Saturday 17th May.  With an audience of 300 plus, the kids were amazing!!!
The group also performed at Te Takere as part of Matariki celebrations and on the Friday 27th June they performed in the school hall in front of students and whanua. The group was fantastic, and an awesome response from whanua.
They are practicing twice a week in preparation for the Kapahaka Festival held in Levin during September.

Gifted Greenstone and Heru

The Kapahaka group practice twice a week in preperation for the Kapahaka Festival held in Levin in September.

The Kapahaka group has been generously gifted a beautiful Greenstone Taonga by Norma Swain, and a bone Heru from the Levin Spinners & Weavers club in May 2014. They wear these with pride when they perform.
The Levin School and  the Kapahaka group can't thank you enough for your amazing gifts.
